Who's online
xbox DLC
NINJA BLADE is a typical beat'em up game similiar to much more popular Ninja Gaiden or God of War. The story in my opinion is pretty cool. You're a member of the special squad called G.U.I.D.E formed to fight an Alpha-worms: a unclassified species of hook worm wich rapidly multiplied, triggering uncontrollable bleeding and open sores but instead of killing the host they mutated him so much that he turned into violent, superstrong killing monster.
You play as ninja called- Ken Ogawa and you're a member of already mentioned organisation. The plot is getting more twisted, especially after first mission and the story is really, really interesting but that's enough spoilers.

I have heard about this game alot. Some people enjoyed playing it and some people did not. I've picked up a copy from a Gamestation for 25 pounds and honestly- it paid off. Played nearly 9 hours straight, nearly peeing myself i have to add. Long time i didn't experience such awesomness in a video game. Let me explain the basis of Ninja Blade to you:
- FIGHTING: Fighting is not as advanced like we can see in Ninja Gaiden 2 but that's not a minus. You get 3 weapons wich can be upgraded to a 5th level (using red shards dropped from enemies, pretty standard) increasing weapons damage, range and unlocking new combos. Also weapons look changes as well wich is pretty cool. But all of that is nothing new for this sort of a game.
And so with much rejoicing the kingdom was Culled

So it begins happily dancing away as the rest of the kingdom is plagued by monsters and Barbarians. So what kind of kingdom holds feasts and dances whilst its populous burns. This kingdom it seems and for good reason. It seems this kingdom has Knights so powerful they could kill every living thing in the kingdom single handed.
But that's not where the fun in this game lies. The fun lies in adding other players to your quest what was once one mans quest to murder anything that looked at him funny quickly becomes a joyful romp of slaughter.

It plays much like many other side scrolling arcade beat-em-ups of old. The players move from left to right killing anything that would get in our heroic murderous knights way. However as a console game there lies within a RPG element to the fray. As players level by gaining exp primarily from each hit one gets on their opponents.
The joy however is in the presentation. Its a silly Cel-shaded giggling fit. I gains a lot of its charm in the background with various characters most of who are not interactive. There's the scared animals who cant help but leave propelled by their own excrement to name but one.

The boss's are inventive to say the least. However some rely to much on having someone with ranged attacks. This really hurt my first play as out of the three of us not one had any skill in magic or archery. However it was still enjoyable jumping around and flailing wildly. Thankfully its very hard to all out die in this game should you be playing multiplayer. A small CPR minigame has been added by hitting the heart in the center of the meter its possible to be revived with near full health. This removes a lot of the challenge from the boss fights.
Where's Kirk when you need him? Alien Hominid HD for 360 Reviewed.

Alien Hominid - I remember playing this when it first showed its tentative yellow little face on newgrounds, as little more than a flash game.
It was quick, it was funny, it was artistic and it was THUMB BLEEDINGLY HARD.
It's old school appeal led to it being picked up by a publisher for the ps2 though, and it materialized on the console to a small measure of success, just about scraping its small production costs back.
But now it's on xbox live... in HD...for a paltry 800 points.
And by gum it's looking good.

The plot? You're an alien shot down by the FBI trying to get his spaceship back. You have a laser gun and the ability to eat peoples faces off. End of Plot. Nice n simple.
The primary appeal to this game is it's old school appraoch. The difficulty is unforgiving, 1 bullet = death. You have lives and a small number of continues, once they're gone it's game over.
There are old school powerups littered around, from cutting death rays to my favorite- something that looks like an easter egg gatling gun. All have hilarious effects on their unfortunate victims.
The enemies come in droves, but i enough different ways to keep things from being too repetative, and some of the level design is frankly inspired (inspired by Metal Slug that is, see below). There's on level where you're fighting ontop of all the moving traffic of a motorway. The car's your standing on can be destroyed, leaving you a bloody smear on the ground - but you can jack cars and ram them into stuff. Brilliant, brutal and hilarios fun.
Just seeing Alien's yellow little face smiling out of the window of an ice cream truck as he rams an FBI van of the road is something beautiful.
In short - this is an old school side scrawling 2d shoot em up.
In the Christmas of 2007 I was trawling the mean streets of Milton Keynes, shopping on street corners for my usual fix.
A cheap, quick lay. Something to while away the long holiday hours with in mindless gunplay for a nomical price - and then discard.
A whore of a game.
What I found though, nestled away in the bordello of HMV, was a creature of such unfathomable - breathtaking beauty - that i was instantly blown away.
I took her home that afternoon - played her all night, played her all day - and I've been playing her ever since.
Her name is Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare.
And all for £40 up front, you cant ask better than that.
But to the actual meat of the matter - the single player is a masterpiece of pace. The game itself can be finished in little under 8 hours, but the entire experience is so well managed, so fast and furious that the second you finish you'll be restarting on a harder difficulty.
FPS's themselves live and die on their weapons choices. You might have made the single most innovative game of all time, with realistic buttock physics and genuine nostril rendering - but if you're guns are the generic 'pistol with popping sound' school which died with DOOM then you are yourself, doomed.
All the guns in COD4 are based on real world guns currently in use - and each one performs exactly how you would expect them to. From the controlled bursts of the M4 carbine to the wild, uncontrollable power of the AK47 - to the satisfying roar of a barret .50cal - all of the guns produce the sound and feeling of actually using them. This combined with the brilliantly responsive control system and graphics combines to make an absorbing - visceral experience.
The story itself is pretty generic, but still just engaging enough to link all the missions together. Oh noes the russains have a nuke? They've always got a nuke. They've got literally thousands of them - get over it.
Before i begin adding new content its time to bulk up the site with some previous opinions off the test run site. Also to note since writing this i discovered there is a new act in the comedy club making my opinion of the worth of this purchase slightly higher. (Still to many points for it though)
Well downloaded content for GTA4 is now available for all 360 users with live. But is it simply worth the cost.
The answer lies with you and what you would be willing to pay for.
New music on the radio stations yeah you can have that 2-3 new tracks per station adds up to about 30 new songs with some new audio dialog interbreed it all. We have some new television content not altogether an awful lot of it but it seems rockstar has listened to its consumer markets and give us more of what we wanted. Republican space rangers makes its triumphant return to the television screen within your television screen.
The plot involves johnny and the biker gang "the lost" as the head of the chapter they belong to is released johnny and jimmy "not the most original of names for them i agree" are thrown back into a war against rival motor club"biker gang" the angels of death. You may remember johnny from ONE MISSION in the vanilla GTA4 where you first meet the much more interesting playboy and yes Nico does reappear however briefly in this expansion to.
additional features include following in formation to converse with the other bikers on your way to a shootout. A battle hardened meter that pretty much just tracks Jim and Clays toughness. Dont get to attached to any other cannon fodder that joins in on your activity's. Now you can take part in gang wars. A lovable throwback to the old GTA turf wars go somewhere and kill the red dots however you want. This seems to be the only way to upgrade Jim and Clay and get them better weapons.
